Rhyme without Reason

Rhyme without Reason

Have you ever listened to something that had no Rhyme or no Reason, but because it was so interesting you just had to keep listening?  I don’t know about you but Rhyme without Reason has no place in time.  In addition, you have to have a good frame of mind, just to listen to such non-sense or at least this is my two cents.

Just listen to the rhythm of the words that I have coming during this state of my mind.  Some people think that it is easy to do, to get your thoughts across with words that are often so sublime.

I can’t speak for others about what they know are to be true.  It would be dishonest of me to try and speak their version of the truth.  Watch your words.  Those words become your actions. You may have heard this before, which leaves it to be a fact and not just my opinion.  Keep everything that is being told to you at the forefront of your mind…just in case you need to go back and compare the Reason to that Rhyme.

I can only sit and listen to the Rhyme and the Reason that comes from hearing your version of the truth, which makes it really hard for me to keep listening to you!  Do any of the words that I have spoken bring anyone particular to your mind? If it does, my sister/my brother, please don’t be blind.  I have imparted some knowledge on you that should have opened your eyes.  You know specifically to whom I speak of…those people who allow lies to flow like a river out of their mouths like a faulty image that is scanned through time.

Yes, Rhyme without Reason is nothing more than a lie.  It is an untruth.  It is a fabrication of the reality in which we all live.  But, we listen.  We listen attentively to the Rhyme and forget to bother trying to get the Reason.  It’s okay.   There is Rhyme and Reason to everything that people say; just listen attentively so that when it is over you are able to go back and push play.

Whispers in the Dark

Whispers in the Dark

Have you ever listened closely and heard whispers in the dark?

You wonder if you are hearing things but to scared to get up.

So you lay there motionlessly almost stiff at the thought.

Those whispers are constantly just tickling at your ear.

So you feel yourself sit up so that they become more clear.

But—yet you remain stiff, motionlessly, as if death was near.

The whispers get louder as you pay closer attention

Suddenly, you realize that it’s your mind’s conversation

At this point  your fear is somehow filled with elation.

Soon, the whispers go away with your mind’s relaxation.

Charter Schools Discriminate Against Students with Disabilities: Is it Fair?

Charter Schools Discriminate Against Students with Disabilities

I was reading through my Twitter posts and came across a link about Charter Schools discriminating against students with disabilities.  It really got under my skin.  As an educator, I find that it unjust that these schools are practicing this type of exclusion.  It leaves me to wonder, “What are the other exclusionary practices that have not been brought to the light?”  Would we find out that there are minority, ethnic, or religious groups that are being excluded?  I don’t know. What do you think?  Charter schools are still required to meet the mandates of NCLB. Are they cheating the system? You tell me.

Zero Standards!

With the school year ending in most states, I have a question that I would like to pose to all of you parents, educators, politicians…

Do you think that classroom grades should equate to the end of the year standardized test scores?

Example:  Your child is a senior in high school.  His final grade in math was an “A”.  He needed to pass the course and the end of the year standardized test in order to graduate.  However, your son/daughter failed the end of the year standardized test.  As a result, he will have to take the test again (and pass) or risk not graduating.

Now, that I have your cylinders turning or maybe your blood boiling, help me out!  What do you think? Are educators’ expectations so low that our children can’t meet the standards?  Or, are the states’ standards so high that they are expecting the impossible?

Tattooed Impressions

Today, I finally came to a crossroads in my life.  I am leaving one opportunity to pursue another, health and family.  As I transition, I decided to put my feelings into writing.  I hope that the people that I have met in my life will have wonderfully tattooed impressions of me on their minds, as I do them!

Tattooed Reflections
In life you always find
that you will meet people of many kinds
and in a moments time
you have these beautifully tattooed impressions
of all the great memories on your mind.
In life you always find
that the ones you will miss most
and the bonds that you form
will last a life-time.
In life you always find
that there will be good
there will be bad
and there will be sad times.
In life you will always find
that the people you meet
the paths you cross
the bonds you make
the time you have sought
will be beautifully tattooed impressions
magnificently tattooed reflections
undeniably tattooed connections
that will be etched in your heart and mind for all times!
